To alleviate the effects of menopause and adopt a healthy lifestyle, a diet rich in phytoestrogens is recommended.
These are also found in soy products, flaxseed, fennel, celery, parsley, nuts, whole grains, legumes, apples, alfalfa and carrots.

High intake of phytoestrogens may explain why in cultures where nutrition is primarily from the plant world, hot flashes and other symptoms are less common.
The recommendation is for natural soy products such as tofu, soy milk, reddish, miso, tampa and soybeans, and not for processed soy products (soy protein used for plant schnitzel or phytoestrogen pills).
